How does GridIQ calculate its draft rankings?
GridIQ's VBD Draft Rankings are built from each player's recent NFL production (2023–2025, weighting the most recent season most heavily), adjusted for age and projected over a full season. Players are ranked by Value Over Replacement (VBD) — how many points they're worth above the last startable player at their position for your league's size and scoring — and live average draft position (ADP) is layered in to flag values and reaches. Kicker is projected from field-goal and extra-point production, and team defense is ranked by market ADP, since both are hard to predict and best drafted late. Incoming rookies are ordered by NFL draft capital until real ADP develops. These are statistical projections built from real data, not guarantees.
